Our definition of progress is reduced wardrobes. We envision a world free of overconsumption. A world with less clutter, less waste, less smoke and mirrors. We don’t design for seasons, we design for longevity. Building pieces that will stand the test of time, both in craftsmanship and design. When something isn’t perfect we improve it. When something is broken we mend it.

Producing new garments isn't sustainable and we know that. However, since we are in the business of making goods, we have a responsibility to offset and understand the scope of our environmental impact. Sustainability is considered through the entire design and manufacturing processes, from fabrics and trims to transportation of products. We minimise waste and leftover inventory by producing in limited quantities, allowing us to create considered collections, disrupting the ideology that fashion needs to be fast paced and mass produced.

We are re-distributing our profits to areas of need through our partnerships with leading environmental non-profit organisations, that enable us to undo some of the damage that comes with producing garments.

For each order placed, a tree is planted through the One Tree Planted Organisation. One Tree Planted are experts in responsible reforestation, having planted over 40 million trees to this day across 43 different countries.

The One Tree Planted organisation want to make it simple for anyone to help the environment by planting trees. Together we can restore forests, create habitat for biodiversity, and make a positive social impact around the world.

Organic farming works in harmony with nature. Farmers make the most of natural systems and cycles to grow their crops and it all starts with the soil! By looking after the world beneath our feet, farmers are able to grow healthy and resilient crops. Using techniques such as crop rotation, green manures and composting, healthy soils lead to healthy harvests. And because toxic hazardous pesticides and artificial fertilisers are banned, biodiversity is boosted and natural forms of pest control are used instead.

This approach is in contrast to non-organic cotton production, which relies on synthetic chemical inputs like nitrogen fertilisers and artificial pesticides. These contribute to climate change and can cause damage to local ecosystems and the health of local people.

5 reasons why we use organic cotton

1. Combats climate change

2. Saves and protects precious water

3. Helps farmers feed their families

4. Gives control to farmers not GM companies

5. Eliminates hazardous synthetic pesticides

Our mailers and polybags are 100% biodegradable. This means they’re made of plants, not plastic so you can feel a little less guilty about ordering online. For best composting results, remove the shipping label (recycle it), cut into small pieces and throw into a compost bin.

As an environmentally conscious brand we do not offer heavily discounted goods, we promote longevity, buying smarter and where we can, reduce over consumption. We are committed to producing high quality garments for our customers, we limit waste product by producing lower quantities of styles and designing collections that can be worn through all four seasons, we promote mindful consumption and studies suggest the more we buy, the more we throw away, especially when these goods are devalued through cheaper prices.

However, during our design and development process we create samples to experiment with new techniques, to ensure fabric, fit and colour of our garments are up to standard and for in-house fit sessions and e-commerce photography. As we finish with the development of our garments, we collect one-off pieces that are offered in our sample sale section of the web store.
